Family Health Development Division

Introduction

The Family Health Development Division (BPKK) is the backbone of public health services at the primary level in the country. The services delivered through various public health facilities are comprehensive and cater to all age groups—from birth to the end of life. The scope of services consists of five components: WELLNESS, EMERGENCY, HEALTH INFORMATICS, DISEASE TREATMENT, and CLINICAL SUPPORT. BPKK is one of four divisions under the Public Health Programme, which in turn is one of the three main programmes under the Director-General of Health Malaysia. BPKK is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for various approved policies and for monitoring the progress of projects and activities at the grassroots level.

 

To fulfill these responsibilities, BPKK has two branches under its administration:

  • Primary Health Branch
  • Family Health Branch.

Mission

To nurture healthy and prosperous family institutions, the Family Health Development Division (BPKK) will:

 

  • Plan and provide comprehensive and integrated family health programs for every individual, family, and community.
  • Promote community involvement in health care by increasing awareness among individuals, families, and the community.
  • Foster collaboration and participation from various sectors, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations in the implementation of family health activities.
Objective
  • To ensure that primary health services are delivered in an integrated manner in line with Ministry policies, covering wellness, acute and chronic disease care.
